I am on a mission to use up all of our art and craft supplies before I buy anything new. We have a big box of bits and bobs that needs to be used up. In the spirit of Halloween recently we made these super cute brown paper bag monsters.
We often have brown paper bags in our home because I use them instead of wrapping paper and our veggies come in paper bags that we reuse. There are so many things you can do with the simple brown paper bag – making paper bag monsters is just one of those things.
While there is a little structure to this activity you can encourage a lot of free play and let your kids create the paper bag monsters they want to. Get creative and find as many things as possible to use to decorate your monsters.
Brown Paper Bag Monsters
- Brown paper bags
- Pieces of paper
- Cut the paper into large triangles for the ears.
- Cut the paper into sharper, smaller triangles for the teeth.
- Assemble your monster starting with the ears, then adding the teeth, a tongue and anything else you want to.
Try not to interfere too much with the monsters your kids are creating. Let them just go with were the craft takes them.
