It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. We are baking and decorating and having lots of fun. I saw this Oreo Cookie Baubles on Pinterest and we had to make them.
These aren’t cookies you can make and then keep for days like the pinwheel cookies. These are make now, eat now kinda cookies. They are really cool if you are having friends over because there is no baking required. All you need to do is melt the chocolate and then the kids can do the rest.
You need thicker cookies like Oreo’s otherwise the hot chocolate will just break them. We used white chocolate but you could use normal chocolate or even dark chocolate if you wanted to.
Don’t put them straight onto a plate, you won’t be able to get them off again. So dip them in the chocolate and then place them onto a cooling rack while the kids decorate.
Oreo Cookie Baubles
- 1 box chocolate Oreo's
- 200 g white chocolate
- 1 roll Rolos
- Melt the chocolate over a double boiler.
- Use a fork, stick it gently in the middle of the Oreo, dip it into the chocolate to coat. Place them onto a cooling wrack.
- Decorate one cookie at a time so that the sprinkle/decorations stick.
- Use a little melted chocolate to stick a rolo onto the top.
We really had so much fun making these and they are a fun way to decorate a Christmas cake or add to a pudding. The possibilities are endless.
