Spring is upon us! As the weather warms and new life ‘springs forth’ our mindset changes and we start to feel more positive. So together with Laura (Harassed Mom) and Candice (Lexi’s Lunch) we are sharing 30 days of positivity.
The goal of our 30 days of positivity is to shift your focus and energy to the positive. Sometimes all it takes is for you to stop, take a breath, and refocus.
The calendar is designed to be done as a family, or on your own. You can do it in your own time. You can choose which prompts you want to do, or you can do all of them. Whatever helps you (and your family) to feel more positive!
We do recommend, however, that you start with the gratitude journal as this will give you time to make it a daily habit.
Keeping a gratitude journal can have tangible benefits. Our thoughts greatly impact our health. A gratitude journal is a wonderful way to change your thoughts. Reducing your stress-levels and anxiety, changing your thought patterns, and gaining new perspective will make you physically healthier. You’ll also sleep better!
Download a printable version of the calendar HERE. Print it, stick it up somewhere visible and enjoy it in your own time.
Most of the prompts are self-explanatory, but here are some ideas to get you started…
Start a gratitude journal…
If you have younger children I recommend a journal that has both blank and lined pages. The blank side is great for children who can’t write yet to draw a picture. The linked side can be used by older family members for writing.
Not sure how to get your family excited about journaling? Check out THIS post.
Take a walk…
Go for a walk as a family. Encourage everyone to talk about what they can see, hear, and smell. Stop and look at and smell every flower. Gather little treasures from nature.
Start your day with a cold shower…
It’s spring but the swimming pool (if you’re lucky enough to have one) is probably still ice cold. Dare each other to jump in!
*Make sure you have a warm bath ready
We inherently believe we are weak. Something simple like a cold shower can help you conquer a limiting belief which makes you feel more positive for the rest of the day.
Laura and Candice will be starting the challenge on 1 September 2020. We will be sharing the daily prompts on our social media. We would love to be part of your journey and share in the positivity. Should you wish to share your journey tag us and use the hashtag #30daysofpositivity!
